Military personnel and law enforcement officers will be prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities.

The President of Uzbekistan has signed a law dated November 29, 2024, which introduces amendments and additions to several legislative acts. These changes implement restrictions related to military service in the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies of the republic, as reported by the Ministry of Justice.
Military personnel and law enforcement officers will be prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities.

In particular, a ban is established on engaging in entrepreneurial activities for military personnel and law enforcement officers. They are also prohibited from receiving any rewards, benefits, or gifts from individuals and legal entities for performing or failing to perform their official duties in their interests.

Moreover, military personnel and law enforcement officers will not be allowed to take advantage of any privileges, preferences, or advantages not provided by law due to their official status.

The law will come into effect one month after its publication.

The agency noted that the adoption of this document will "enhance combat readiness and the effectiveness of service activities in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan and law enforcement agencies."
