“In recent years, Uzbekistan has recorded numerous instances where individuals evading investigation and justice have hidden in Turkey for years in an attempt to escape accountability. Just in the first ten months of this year, 37 such individuals have been apprehended and brought to trial,” the diplomatic representation stated.
It was noted that within the framework of mutual legal assistance between the ministries of internal affairs of both countries, the prosecution of such individuals is becoming increasingly effective.
“The only and most appropriate course of action for those wanted is to contact the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in foreign countries or the law enforcement agencies of the republic and to exercise their right to legal defense during the investigation and court proceedings,” the agency explained.
The consulate emphasized that “measures to apprehend wanted individuals will now be intensified, the uncompromising fight against crime will continue, and the principle of accountability for crimes will be strictly upheld.”
