The document has approved the Regulations for the Green Charitable Fund under the Ministry of Ecology and the composition of its governing council. All contributions will be transferred to the fund's special account.
The fund's resources will be allocated to finance the preparation of designated land plots for planting trees and shrubs, the development of project and estimate documentation, the establishment of irrigation systems, the purchase of tree and shrub seedlings and cuttings, as well as for landscaping activities, creating dendraries, green gardens, and public parks, as well as the "green shield" and "green belt." Additionally, investments will be used to organize events for the preservation of planted crops over three years and for growing and supplying large-sized trees and shrubs.
All resources will be spent in accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability to the public.
By June 1, 2025, an electronic database for the National Fund for Green Welfare will be established, and a state cadastre of plant life objects will begin, which will contain information about trees and shrubs included in the State Forest Fund.
The establishment of the Green Charitable Fund without legal entity status at the Ministry of Ecology was initiated during the presentation of proposals in the areas of environmental protection and tourism to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in September of this year. It was noted that the fund's management will occur under public oversight. It was also proposed to integrate an option for voluntary charitable donations called "Green Payment" ("Яшил тулов") into electronic payment system applications.
The launch of the platforms "Яшил олам" and "Яшил тулов" is an important step in the development of ecological initiatives. These innovations will help engage the broader public in environmental protection issues and will contribute to the creation of an effective financing system for ecological projects.
