Let us remind you that in November of this year, the leadership of the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment announced the implementation of a procedure for "moral examination" of media products aimed at curbing the dissemination of materials that promote immorality. Experts emphasized the need to prevent the spread of materials that could negatively impact youth and do not align with national values. To achieve this, it was proposed to conduct ongoing monitoring of the compliance of media materials with the moral and ethical standards of the country.
The new moral examination procedure was set to affect television, radio, social networks, as well as series, cartoons, films, music videos, and other audiovisual products.
The Ministry of Justice's statement from December 14 notes that upon reviewing this issue, it was found that the document establishes "mandatory legal norms affecting the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities."
"In accordance with current legislation, such legal acts of ministries and departments are subject to state registration with the Ministry of Justice. Acts that have not undergone state registration cannot serve as a basis for the legal regulation of relevant social relations and do not entail legal consequences," - it was emphasized in the message.
In this regard, the Ministry of Justice announced that the decision to introduce "spiritual examination" of media products has been canceled and withdrawn by the bodies that adopted this document.
Additionally, specialists from the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment were advised on the appropriateness of submitting analytical proposals to the authorized bodies in the established manner for the removal of media products disseminated through various sources, if their content contradicts current legislation.
