Uzbekistan's state theaters will gain new powers to enhance their development and creativity.

The document incorporates all the suggestions voiced during the presentation held in November, concerning the development of the culture and arts sector, as well as support for theaters and strengthening their role in the cultural life of society.

In particular, according to the resolution, the "Theater as a Temple" program will be implemented, aimed at encouraging regular attendance at theaters, especially among the youth, as an integral part of cultural life.

In collaboration with the participants of the "Mahalla Seven," monthly "Theater Day" events will be held in the mahallas. Citizens whose names are recorded in the "Iron Notebook," "Women's Notebook," and "Youth Notebook," as well as individuals with disabilities, will now have the right to free access to performances at state theaters.

Some innovations will be introduced in the activities of certain state theaters in the Republic.

From January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, as part of a legal experiment, the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan and the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theater will be empowered to make independent decisions regarding financial, creative, and organizational matters. Until the end of 2026, the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan will operate as a modern exemplary theater.

The Fund for the Development of Culture and Arts has been tasked with creating and organizing a grand premiere and tours of the musical based on Abdulla Qadiri's work "Days Gone By" in 2025-2026.

In the field of professional theater education, it is planned to establish cooperation between specialized educational institutions and theaters across the country. In particular, targeted quotas for admission to the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan will be set, taking into account the theaters' need for personnel. Practical classes for undergraduate and master's students will be scheduled at least twice a week in theaters. Funds will be allocated from the state budget for the annual financing of up to 5 research projects. Resources will be allocated for the implementation of state programs in scientific activities. The Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation have been tasked with ensuring the implementation of this item.

The Ministry of Preschool and School Education has been assigned to organize theater clubs in preschool educational institutions, secondary and specialized schools, and to conduct a republican competition for school theaters called "Turon."

The implementation of these and other objectives outlined in the document lays the foundation for the development of theatrical arts in Uzbekistan, ensuring sustainable support for creative initiatives and workforce training.
