Lawmakers have submitted a draft budget for 2025 to the Senate.

The draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025" was reviewed today in its second reading during the regular plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. Following its approval by the deputies, the document has been sent to the Senate for endorsement, according to the press service of the lower house of the national parliament.

Let us remind you that on November 26, during a session of the Legislative Chamber, the parliamentarians unanimously adopted the concept of the state budget document for the year 2025 in its first reading.

On Tuesday, December 3, the draft state budget was discussed again by the deputies. Special attention during the session was paid to an in-depth analysis of the revenues and expenditures of the state budget and the budgets of state targeted funds, the activities outlined in the local budgets and state funds projects, as well as information on their funding sources.

It was noted that due to the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Environmental Protection and the “green” economy, focus was placed on the appropriateness and effectiveness of expenditures in these areas. Clarity was provided on issues raised by deputies during discussions in the fields of healthcare, education, culture, sports, and the economy. Some proposals were taken into account in the process of improving the budgetary and tax systems.

Considering the suggestions and recommendations voiced by the deputies, a number of conceptually significant changes were made to the draft law. In particular, in accordance with the proposal from the UzLiDeP faction, an additional 35.5 billion dollars will be allocated to the Public Fund for the Support of Children to identify and provide assistance to children in difficult situations who require social protection.

In line with the proposals from the DP "Milliy Tiklanish" faction, an additional 40 billion sums is planned for the development of the cinematographic sector, including the creation of a series of films titled “Living History,” as well as support for the activities of amateur artistic groups.

The proposal from the SDP "Adolat" faction to allocate 3.1 billion sums for improving the material and technical base of the ombudsman institution to ensure timely and complete fulfillment of the crucial tasks of protecting human rights in the country, preventing violence and conflicts, has been supported.

Following the proposal from the NDPU faction, an additional 10.6 billion sums will be allocated for the organization of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction.

Additionally, the proposal from the Ecological Party faction to allocate an extra 100 billion sums for the "Yashil Makon" project to improve the ecological situation in the country and prevent the negative impacts of transboundary hot winds, dust, and sandstorms has been approved.

Moreover, based on the proposal from the faction members, an additional 9.5 billion sums will be allocated for the establishment of a scientific experimental forestry station in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

As a result of the discussions, the parliamentarians adopted the draft law and sent it to the Senate.
