On November 29, the open court proceedings regarding the case of the blogger Farhod Mannopov, known by the pseudonym Mittivine, concluded at the Uchtepa District Court for Criminal Cases.

As reported by the press service of the Supreme Court, the defendants were doctors from the private clinic Star Med Center in Tashkent, owned by LLC Omad Plyus: otolaryngologist A. K., 43, from the Kashkadarya region, and anesthesiologist-resuscitator J. K., 45, from the Bukhara region.

According to the court's decision, both defendants, A. K. and J. K., were found not guilty of committing the crime specified in part 2 of Article 117 (leaving in danger, resulting in death) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and were acquitted.

However, the court found them guilty of committing the crime defined in part 3 of Article 116 (improper performance of their professional duties, resulting in death by negligence) of the Criminal Code. Each man was sentenced to 5 years of restriction of freedom. Additionally, the court barred them from working in the medical field as an otolaryngologist and anesthesiologist-resuscitator for a period of 2 years.

Furthermore, it was noted that the term of restriction of freedom for J. K., who was under house arrest, was reduced to 3 years, 6 months, and 27 days in accordance with Article 62 "Rules for accounting for detention, imprisonment, or house arrest" of the Criminal Code.

The case was heard under the chairmanship of Judge D. Komilov of the Uchtepa District Court for Criminal Cases.

Recall that in March of last year, after a surgical operation, the 26-year-old blogger Farhod Mannopov, known online as Mittivine, passed away. The deceased sustained injuries while swimming in a pool and sought help at a private clinic in Tashkent, where he later died. The prosecutor's office of the Chilanzar district initiated a criminal case following an investigation into Mannopov's death. In September 2023, the case was submitted to the court.
