On December 9 at 11:45 PM, a Yutong passenger bus traveling from Almaty to Nukus broke down on the 592 km mark of the Almaty-Tashkent highway. This was reported by the press service of the regional Department of Emergency Situations.
Rescuers from the Department of Emergency Situations evacuated 41 passengers, including 34 citizens of Uzbekistan and 7 citizens of Kazakhstan, among whom were two children.
The evacuation involved 7 personnel and two vehicles. The passengers were taken to the Children's Art School in the village of Shakpak Ata.
A medical team examined an 88-year-old passenger, a citizen of Uzbekistan. The man did not require medical assistance. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
“A new bus was sent from Almaty for the passengers to continue their journey. On December 10 at 07:00, all passengers resumed their trip to their destination,” the statement said.
