The U.S. and Uzbekistan have concluded negotiations for the country's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai published a statement regarding the Biden-Harris administration's ongoing support for Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“The United States is pleased to announce the conclusion of bilateral negotiations on market access for goods and services with Uzbekistan as part of Uzbekistan's efforts to join the WTO,” the statement reads.

Uzbekistan applied for WTO membership in 1994 and began actively working towards accession in 2020.

“Uzbekistan's strong commitment to advancing negotiations has led to significant progress over the past two years, including the successful conclusion of our bilateral agreement.”
