The missing AN-2 aircraft, which disappeared three days ago, has been located in Kamchatka.

The An-2 aircraft that went missing on December 19 in Kamchatka has been found, reported the region's Minister for Emergency Situations, Sergey Lebedev, on "VKontakte".

According to him, the two pilots and the passenger aboard are alive. "The aircraft has been located. The people are alive. I cannot say exactly what their condition is," Lebedev mentioned in a video he posted.

The AN-2 was flying on the route from Milkovo to Ossora. On board were two pilots (68-year-old Captain Andrey Gordeev and 71-year-old pilot Nikolai Shcheglov), as well as 25-year-old Andrey Mitasov, who was accompanying the cargo.

The aircraft took off in the morning of December 19. According to the pilots, the weather was good, and all services also confirmed favorable weather conditions. However, after about four hours of flight, the plane began to ice up. The aircraft started losing speed and altitude. The pilots attempted to turn back towards the departure airfield but did not make it in time. Ultimately, the plane made a hard landing near Mount Tundrovaya. During the landing, the aircraft flipped over, and one crew member was trapped under the cargo.

The survivors managed to activate the emergency radio beacon. Their food supplies consisted of two loaves of bread and some sausage. To keep warm, the pilots burned fuel in a bucket that was on board.
