Theaters in Uzbekistan are being modernized, and salaries for arts workers will be increased.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, from 2025 to 2030, Uzbekistan aims to produce a series of 32 performances dedicated to national heroes, as well as themes of honor and human dignity. These and other plans were discussed during today's presentation of proposals for the development of culture and the arts to the president.
Theaters in Uzbekistan are being modernized, and salaries for arts workers will be increased.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev was also presented with proposals to establish the Mahmukhodja Behbudiy Award for playwrights and the Bakhtiyor Yuldashev Award for young directors. Additionally, a creative project titled "Nigoch" is set to be launched, along with a competition for composers focused on academic music.

Furthermore, discussions included the creation of master schools for actors and theater directors, theater scholars, and art critics, as well as clubs for theater critics and playwrights, and the provision of annual government orders to non-state theaters.

Amateur theater groups will be established in general and higher educational institutions, with competitions held among them. The country will also initiate the "Theater - School of Life" program, which aims to encourage regular visits to theaters by young people.

Starting next year, a national ranking of theater groups in Uzbekistan will be compiled. The theater buildings in the regions will undergo major renovations and modernization using modern technologies. The Mukimi State Musical Theater will be granted academic status.

From 2025, the salaries of employees in culture, arts, information-library, and museum sectors will be increased. A KPI system will be introduced for them. Special attention will be given to the development of the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.
