The Ministry of Justice has revoked the "spiritual examination" requirement for media outlets.

The department notes that the document regarding the introduction of expertise contains mandatory legal norms that affect the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities. Therefore, it is subject to mandatory registration. However, the initiators did not submit it to the Ministry of Justice.

Consequently, the decision was withdrawn by the authorities that adopted this document, and it is not subject to enforcement.

The ministry also emphasized that media products can only be checked for compliance with legislation.

Earlier, it was reported that all films, series, cartoons, and musical works produced in Uzbekistan and abroad would undergo a special "spiritual expertise." Representatives of the creative industry opposed this initiative, stating that censorship is unacceptable and violates the Constitution.
