Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz, the Agency for Cultural Heritage and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) have signed a protocol to implement a project aimed at creating a digital database of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage, with a budget of $8.5 million, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

The signing ceremony for the project "Digital Integrated Management and Utilization of Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan" took place with the participation of the Director of the Cultural Heritage Agency, Bahodir Abdikarimov, the head of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) office in Uzbekistan, Shin Myung Sop, and other responsible officials from both agencies.

Thanks to this project, a digital database of cultural heritage sites and a management platform will be created. The project plans to develop comprehensive digital content for tourists, procure necessary equipment, and enhance the qualifications of local specialists.

The digitization project, set to be implemented from 2025 to 2028, will be carried out by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Culture and Arts Development Fund, the KOICA office in Uzbekistan, and a group of Korean experts.

It is worth noting that at the end of November, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Tashkent between KOICA and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan regarding the implementation of a project testing innovative technologies in the educational sector.
