Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to the Podrobno.uz agency, the Cultural Heritage Agency and the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) have signed a protocol for the implementation of a project aimed at creating a digital database of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage, with a budget of $8.49 million, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

The signing ceremony for the project "Digital Integrated Management and Utilization of Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan" took place with the participation of Bahadir Abdikarimov, the Director of the Agency for Cultural Heritage, Shin Myung Sop, the head of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) representative office in Uzbekistan, and other responsible officials from both agencies.

This project will establish a digital database of cultural heritage sites and a management platform for them. The initiative aims to create comprehensive digital content for tourists, procure necessary equipment, and enhance the qualifications of local specialists.

The digitization project, which will be implemented from 2025 to 2028, will be carried out by the Agency for Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Culture and Arts Development Fund, the KOICA representative office in Uzbekistan, and a team of Korean experts.

It is worth noting that at the end of November, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Tashkent between KOICA and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan regarding the implementation of a project to test innovative technologies in the education sector.
