The British-Hong Kong banking group HSBC Holdings plc announced that it will no longer process payments from Russia or Belarus, reports Reuters.
The statement indicates that the bank has "decided to stop processing payments" from Russia and Belarus, advising clients to seek alternative options for conducting transactions. This decision follows the bank's exit from the Russian market after selling its Russian business in May 2024.
One of the reasons for the departure of most banks from Russia, as noted by the agency, was the sanctions imposed by the U.S. and other countries after February 2022.
